"During the design and development of Forging History, a new immersive exhibition to celebrate 180 years of Crewe Works at Crewe Heritage Centre we identified the need for an evocative, atmospheric soundscape that would help recreate what it was like working in Crewe Works. Stephen was the man for the job! He stepped forward and very generously offered his expertise, we are so glad he did! 
He created an amazing, layered wrap around soundscape that included every single element we had mentioned in the brief - the sounds of machinery and locos, men shouting, tools being banged. Amazingly, he managed to tell the story of the Works through the soundscape itself, finishing with a haunting whistle blowing for the last time. It formed the perfect backdrop to the exhibition and really brought it to life. 
Stephen was unfailingly professional throughout, keeping us updated on how he was getting on and making suggestions for how the soundscape could be improved. He attended site to test out the sound levels, took on feedback and adjusted accordingly. He even offered to interview former employees of the Works to further enhance the experience. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Stephen - the work he produced was absolutely fantastic and he was a complete joy to work with.
